It seems your uncomprehending patriotism is a lie to deceive, I understand national pride, but our government is nothing to be proud of, they are deceivers working the American people for tax money, and rewards from lobbying corporations, there is a reason why half of our retired politicians n’ staffers become lobbyists, if they play ball, and fuck the people they get a cushy job, selling us for more personal gains.
You wonder why Obama doesn’t sweat his hata’s, the media and critics. It’s because he knows what their going to say about him before they even say it, and he also knows that deep down in his heart, he’s doing whats right for America.
All the people have been tell the goverment that B.P. is putting the horse before the cart because there motivated by the stock holders. The First thing is to colapes the hole and stop the leak. From day one people have been saying that. To hell with the clean up stop the oil even if you use the navy to torpedoe hole shut. You can’t clean up faster than its leaking. Blow the thing shut.

considering the valdez disaster, why was there no plan in place OR why was a huge miscalculation allowed to be accepted?
The last thing we need to hear is “rhetoric”. the real problem is in the group working on this specific rig. something went extremely wrong to escape the adjusted plans post valdez, or like I said there was an extreme miscalculation.
@freespadersuggs why was there a miscalculation of this magnitude? as you say these people are qualified scientists…….do we really need to hear Obama talk? why not focus on the real problem, what is was, and to make adjustments.

@commonman80 no, this same thing has NOT happened before. There have been lesser spills, but there has never in recorded history been a spill of this magnitude. EVER. And it is reaching the point where even if they CAN get it stopped NOW, they may have already destroyed the Gulf of Mexico. All of it. The damage is irreversable.

@gatsu6969, btw, I do agree with Rachel Maddow’s report that the technology being tried now is no better than what was tried then. The MAGNITUDE of the disaster is a thousandfold that of the 79 spill. There’s no comparison.
@dejahthoris , well from what some of the other oil companies are saying, it should be stopped already, call in some people from the middle east. one oil company said there is a plug. that would/should work w/the mud. or blow out the bottom at the source w/ a bomb and plug that sucker. and not a nuke, for crying out loud. seems you would rather wait 3-4 more months?
